Nid hosbis arferol mo hwn... Mae Hosbis Daear yn cynnig patrwm byw o sut i gynnal marwolaeth.
At Earth hospice, we believe that death is just a natural part of life; the hospice is a place and space of peace, whereby connecting to the land and nature, people come back into relationship with the ever-changing seasons of life and death.
Bydd yr hosbis yn rhywle ble gall pobl ddod i farw mewn heddwch. Nid ymestyn hyd bywyd yw ein bwriad ni, ond gwella ansawdd byw a marw a hynny drwy ailgynnau'r cariad rhwng dyn a'i gynefin naturiol. Bydd yr hosbis yn lle i'r rheiny sy'n synhwyro fod marwolaeth yn agwedd annatod ar fywyd, ac yn rhan o dymhorau newidiol pob un ohonom. Bydd yn lle o dangnefedd.
Y gorau o’r ddau fyd...
Mae’r mwyafrif o bobl eisio marw yn eu cartref eu hunain. Yn anffodus dydy hyn ddim bob tro’n bosib, ac mae’r mwyafrif o farwolaethau’n digwydd mewn ysbyty neu hosbis, mewn amgylchedd sydd o bosib yn groes i'r ddelfryd o 'farwolaeth dda.' Hyd yn oed ble mae marwolaeth yn y cartref yn bosib, mae’r anhawsterau ymarferol a’r baich emosiynol o ofalu am rywun agos yn gallu bod yn llethol.
Ar hyn o bryd nid oes unrhyw wlâu hosbis yng Ngwynedd. Bydd Hosbis Daear yn gartref i'r rheiny nad yw'n bosib iddynt farw yn eu gwlâu eu hunain, ond sy'n dymuno cael gofal mynwesol a chwmni ffyddlon tra'n marw. Byddwn yn meithrin cymuned sy'n gwbl gyfforddus yn trafod marwolaeth, ac a fydd yn gallu cefnogi pobl sy'n wynebu diwedd eu hoes, a'u teuluoedd, heb fraw.
Home from Home…
Most people want to die at home. Unfortunately, this isn’t always possible and most deaths happen in a hospital or hospice, often a clinical environment is not conducive to a ‘good death’. Even when death at home is possible, the practical pressures and emotional weight of caring for a loved one can be overwhelming.
There are currently no hospice beds in Gwynedd. Earth Hospice provides a “home from home” for those who want support during the dying process. We are part of a community conversation about death. A death-conscious community can hold dying people and their families in ways that institutions cannot.
Ein breuddwyd ni – sut fydd Hosbis Daear yn edrych?
Rydym yn gobeithio y bydd yr hosbis wedi'i leoli yn Nhirioni, sef safle presennol ‘The Joys of Life’ ym Methesda.
O fewn yr hosbis bydd llofftydd, 'stafell fwyta gymunedol a lle braf i sgwrsio. Bydd llety ar gyfer y trigolion hynny fydd yn dewis byw a gweithio yn yr hosbis, gan olygu y bydd gofal cyson ar gael. Hefyd yn yr hosbis, bydd llety seibiant i ofalwyr ac i bobl sy'n wynebu dirywiad hir, er mwyn iddyn nhw gael adennill 'chydig o nerth a gwneud y gorau o'r bywyd sy'n weddill iddyn nhw.
Bydd caffi yma, llyfrgell a chlytiau o dir garddio; encil hyfryd lle bydd rhwydd hynt i agor allan a phrofi heddwch mewnol. Byddwn yn cynnig gwasanaethau megis diwrnodau hyfforddiant, sesiynau therapi holistig, cymorth efo gwaith papur (megis llunio ewyllys) a chymorth emosiynol i'r rhai sy'n dygymod â galar.
Canolbwynt cymdeithasol Tirioni fydd Tomen y Crannog, sef man i gynnal seremonïau. Bydd croeso i bobl leol gynnal digwyddiadau yma, a gwneud defnydd o'n Llwyfan Lleisiau, sef lle i wau cwrlid o hanesion ac atgofion ac i gyfoethogi doethineb ein gilydd. Yn gymar i’r Domen bydd strwythur helyg byw at bwrpas cynnal defodau yn yr awyr iach.
Bydd yma Gapel Gorffwys (storfa oer naturiol wedi'i gwneud o lechen) a dolmen (ar gyfer cadw llestrau lludw), ond yn galon i'r cyfan bydd bydd Claddfa'r Coed a Thŷ’r Hynafiaid, sef claddfa naturiol yn y goedwig a lle i alaru yn ddiffuant iawn am y meirw.
Our vision- what will Earth hospice look like?
The hospice will, we hope, be in Tirioni, Bethesda, which is currently the site of ‘The Joys of life’ centre.
Within the hospice there are bedrooms, a communal eating space and a sociable living room. There is also accommodation on the premises for the staff; care is always available at Earth Hospice. Also on the land is a respite centre for carers and those who have longer to live- a beautiful, supportive environment in which to spend time regenerating.
We also have a café, a library and an allotment garden. We are a place for space, to expand and to go within. Our retreat centre will offer holistic therapy session, training days and help with paperwork (such as drawing up a will). We will also offer griefwork and bereavement support.
The heart of our centre will be Tomen Y Crannog (The Mound), a space for ceremony and ritual, which welcomes local groups and events and is home to the Spirit Stage. The Spirit Stage is a place to gather, to tell stories and weave magic, wisdom and insight. Outside is our willow circle; she holds space for outdoor ceremony.
The Chapel of Rest is a natural underground chamber, lined and kept cool by Welsh slate. The long barrow is a sacred space for holding urns of ash, and in the beautiful woodland lies our natural burial ground, along with our House of Ancestors. This is a place to grieve and deeply acknowledge the deceased.
